Job Title: WelderJob Description

The Fabricator will cut, weld, and braze metal pieces and products using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment. This role requires a good mechanical aptitude and operates on a schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Plan details of work order procedures; gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
• Repair and fabricate various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
• Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
• Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.
• Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Understanding of machines and tools used in welding, including their designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
• Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
• Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Completion of Trade School, Welding Certification.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with welding techniques such as Mig and Tig welding, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
• Experience in blueprint reading, sheet metal, and fabrication.

Work Environment

The role is based in a machine shop environment with the door open, and is non-climate controlled. This setting provides a unique opportunity to work on large-scale projects, such as building huge stages.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburg, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
