Location: Remote Pay : $38-45/hour based on experience, certifications, and education Hours: Monday-Friday, standard business hours (some occasional OT may be needed) Status: Long-Term Consultant: Starting off as a consultant/contractor there is always potential for long term / conversion for the right employee upon business needs. Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented User Acceptance Tester to support the buildout of new capabilities for a web-based ID card composition and processing application. This role ensures our enterprise-level systems function accurately, efficiently, and with exceptional user experience by executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating across development and product teams. You will join a team of 5 QA Engineers, including 3 with specialized automation and back-end process expertise. This group brings a mix of general QA capabilities and advanced technical testing skills, with more than half experienced in automated testing and complex system validation. Job Duties: Execute manual and automated test cases, scenarios, and scripts based on business requirements. Automate existing manual test cases where appropriate. Identify, document, and track software defects through to resolution. Collaborate with developers, product owners, and the Test Lead to ensure complete test coverage. Participate in demo sessions, providing usability and functionality feedback. Support continuous improvement through testing best practices and process enhancements. Conduct API testing (RESTful services) using tools like Postman or Rest Assured, validating request/response formats and protocols. Contribute to end-to-end scenario testing that mirrors real-world workflows to identify system gaps before release. Minimum Requirements: Verifiable High School Diploma/GED or higher 3+ years in software testing, preferably UAT or QA roles. Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing. Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Rally, JIRA). Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working across teams. API testing experience (RESTful services, protocols, request/response validation). Preferred Qualifications: Large corporation experience and Health plan / managed care / healthcare industry experience Database testing skills (writing NoSQL queries, understanding schemas, validating data integrity). Experience with enterprise-level software involving integrated components, databases, and third-party systems. Risk assessment and prioritization skills to focus testing efforts effectively. Strong business acumen with the ability to quickly learn new processes. Proven ability to manage stakeholder communication and facilitate requirement clarification sessions.
