Job DescriptionJob Title: Project Coordinator, Full time, Non-ExemptSupervisor: Senior Director of Program DevelopmentPay Rate: Hiring Range $24 - $26 per hour, dependent on experience. Full position range $24 - $29 per hour, to account for potential internal annual growth with the organization.Hours: Approx. 40 hours per week, with ability for overtimeDuration: 12 month contract position (10/22/2025 - 10/22/26), with potential opportunity to extendAnticipated Start Date: October 22nd, 2025Location: Must be located in Southern California.Primarily hybrid position, mostly remote work with required in person event preparation and support with varying schedules. We are committed to building a culturally inclusive team as we center belonging, collective growth, and equity.Position SummaryThe Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting logistical planning of community events, activities and trainings dedicated to the American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) and Indigenous community members throughout Los Angeles County. Strong attention to detail, an organized approach and effective communication skills are instrumental to this role. The Project Coordinator contributes to many essential areas for successful community programs through event planning and implementation and social media marketing and engagement. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Project Implementation and Program Management (45%)Assist with logistical planning and delivering intentional community programsAssist with community event agendas from pre-event run-throughs, to set up, implementation, post-event cleaning, and debrief meetingsAssist with in-office event preparation days including: printing name tags, signage, registration information, assembling tote bags, etc.Support planning of culturally inclusive events, presentations, and hands-on cultural arts activities for community members and alliesImplement organizational policies, goals, objectives, and procedures Provide timely communications on deliveries, changes to orders, venues, and equipment/service needs; provide input to resolve capacity and service needsSupport with programmatic purchases and distribution of materials, including mailing packages and outreach materialsEnsure programming material in the organizations storage unit is maintained and effectively organized and labeledCommunity Engagement and Outreach (20%)Provide services from a community-centered, strengths-based, and relational approachAssist in meetings, tabling opportunities and events with community partners and maintain strong relationships with local Indigenous community and programsSupport with submission and pick up of organizational marketing materialsSocial Media and Marketing (10%)Maintains collaborative oversight of social media accounts monitoring all social media contentAssists in the creation of engaging content for newsletters and social media platforms (via tools such as Canva)Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and commentsAdministrative Support & Team Communication (25%)Perform administrative functions such as contributing to reports and ensuring accurate storage of finished projects and reportsIdentify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for changeRespond to all emails, phone calls, and other correspondences within 2 business daysCommunicate relevant project information, resolve issues in a timely manner, provide updates to team and Board members as neededAttend and engage in required trainings,meetings and team gatherings scheduled by supervisor(s)Other duties as assignedQualificationsExperience serving individuals within the AI/AN and Indigenous community and/or other marginalized communities (Two Spirit, LGBTQIA+, varying abilities, BIPOC, etc).Knowledge and awareness of Los Angeles County and familiarity of local community resources that support AI/AN and Indigenous community members. Bachelors degree or equivalent years of work experience requiredFamiliarity with project coordination and administrative operations activities such as budget and accounting processes, reporting and risk management planning Exhibit exceptional organizational skills and attention to detailStrong skills in short and long term planning, analysis and problem solvingAbility to work on a team, independently, in the office, or at home office/spaceDemonstrate effective interpersonal skills including verbal/written communication, active listening and critical thinking to effectively represent the organizationTechnological skills: Knowledge of Google Workspace, MS Office, social media platforms and other systemsAbility to use discretion and maintain confidentialityProficiency in creating content (posts, reels, etc.) for a variety of social media platformsExperience conducting programs and community needs assessment and evaluationsOther characteristics such as: positive attitude, flexibility to adapt or shift as needed and willingness to learn in communityCompensation & Benefits This is a full-time, non-exempt position of 40 hours per week in a 12 month contract - with potential to renew. The starting hourly hiring range is $24 - $26, commensurate with experience. Position hourly range of $24 - $29 to account for growth within the organization. We offer paid vacation and sick time. Seventeen paid holidays (in 2025). Benefits package including: Medical, dental, vision, 85% of benefits paid by the organization for employees and 40% paid by the organization for dependents. 100% of life insurance paid by the organization.
