Job Description

USGP has an opportunity for a PHARMACY TECHNICIAN to provide services to our military service members, their families, and veterans within NAVAL BRANCH HEALTH CLINIC, MAYPORT FL.

  • Schedule: M-F 0600-2100 (Mayport, FL)

Qualifications:

  • Degree/Education: Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based

program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.

  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Must have an active BLS through American Heart Association or military program
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of 12 months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician with the preceding 36
  • Board Certification: Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Job Duties:

  • Perform a full range of pharmacy technician
  • Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into
  • Perform information consultation duties including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician’s requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug
  • Perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and

documentation.

  • Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock
  • Provide patient medication information and
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to perform the accurate and timeliness entry of records, encounter closures within 72-hours, reports, and

documentation, both written and electronic communication of all information, as appropriate, to include pain patient agreements, pharmacotherapeutic treatment findings and recommendations.

  • Educate and orient self and other staff members to the operations and policies of the

pharmacy department and clinic.

  • Answer telephone call questions from patients or hospital staff on pharmacy related
  • Ensure that work areas are clean and safe according to applicable
