Duties If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team responsible for enforcing Federal Criminal and Civil laws that protect life, liberty, and property. As a Paralegal Specialist in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO), you will provide assistance on cases involving illegal immigration, trafficking of humans or drugs, and targeting Cartels and Transitional Criminal Organizations (TCOs), including those designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs) pursuant to Executive Order 14157. If selected, you will receive formal and/or on-the-job training as needed. Typical work assignments will include: Supporting investigations and legal proceedings related to criminal and civil cases. Assisting attorneys with case preparation, documentation, and legal research. Participating in the enforcement of laws against organized crime and terrorism. Requirements You must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication, including fingerprint, credit, tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable background investigation. You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable. If selected, you may be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
