About this position: The Painter is valuable part of the Housing Authority of the City of Natchitoches because of their function of work to prepare and paint walls within the units, window seals, doors, closets, repair and patch sheetrock and doors, and some exterior parts of buildings if needed. The Housing Authority of the City of Natchitoches is a friendly and team-oriented workplace. The painter will work under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman.
Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience or training in the painting trade.

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
- Cleans surfaces to be painted by use of sandpaper, burners, scrapers, brushes, dipvats, sanding machines, sandblasters, and dusters.
- Removes paints, assembles, and disassembles furniture and equipment for refinishing.
- Mixes, thins, and matches paints.
- Determines methods of application and applies paint with brush, roller or spray gun to the exterior and interior of buildings, to furniture, to signs, to structural steel, and/or to equipment.
- Erects and removes scaffolding, swinging stages, and boatswain chairs as necessary.
- May requisition supplies or maintain records.
- Performs incidental related duties such as glazing, wall covering, sheetrock, spackling, repairing plaster, and cement work. Keeps records of time, supplies, and work.
- Directs and trains assigned helpers and apprentices.
- Performs various related work as assigned or required.
