As a Production Manager at Teaspressa, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the mixing, batching, and packaging process of our products, as well as actively monitoring inventory levels, restocking, and supporting various aspects of the manufacturing and operations functions.

This position reports to the Operations Director and is responsible for the supervision of production and fulfillment personnel by ensuring that the production expectation is met while verifying conformance with safety, regulatory and quality standards. Our plant currently runs on one, 8-hour shift (though we flex based on seasonality), we are looking to fill one day shift position.

 

Essential Functions

  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures, sanitation SSOP’s, and Production SOPs.
  • Help Maintain OSHA, FDA, FSQA (and any other state or federal regulations) compliance at all times.
  • Plans, organizes and implements improvement processes to achieve organizational, departmental and manufacturing goals.
  • Assure direct reports are working safely, effectively and efficiently.
  • Play an active role in the training and professional development of our food manufacturing associates.
  • Perform daily quality and food safety inspections of in process and finished products on a regular basis.

· Monitor employee performance and provide guidance to ensure production goals are met.

  • Complete shift activity reports and submit them on a daily basis.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, recommend, investigate and provide solutions.
  • Work closely with cross functional team members to maintain production timelines, minimize production downtime and maximize production throughput.
  • Review production schedules, work orders and other records / reports to determine workload and staffing needs.

· Develop and motivate production staff to uphold company values.

· Optimize personnel and resources for maximum productivity and employee engagement.

  • Foster a positive, respectful and inclusive culture among with team members with open communication.
  • Maintain cleanliness at a high level in all areas of the plant through the involvement of all food manufacturing associates.

  • Internal: This position communicates at all levels of the organization.
  • Reports to: Operations Director
  • Supervises: Day shift manufacturing personnel

Education, Experience and Required Skills

3 years of experience in a leadership position supervising people in a fast-paced production environment. Preferably in baking, confectionary or heavily seasonal industry.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effectively coach team members and provide performance feedback and development opportunities.
  • Project management skills, working within timelines and meeting project completion dates.
  • Good communication skills with staff, co-workers and direct supports.
  • Knowledge of computers and production reporting.
  • Ability to read and understand production schedules.
  • Ability to work within a defined budget.
  • Effectively manage an entire shift of employees and production.
  • Experience with driving a forklift.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to handle high stress environment.
  • 90 – 95% of time spent will be on the production floor assisting and helping the employees achieve department goals.
  • Production area is not climate controlled and may experience extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to lift 50-80 lbs., push / pull 100 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Work Location: In person in Phoenix, AZ

Compensation: $45,000-$70,000 DOE
