Fairfield County wants you on our team!**This is not a remote position. Duties - Financial Data Analysis: Collect and interpret financial data to assess the county performance and identify trends or anomalies.
- Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Maintain complex financial models to predict future financial performance.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with various departments to gather data to understand business needs.
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports, including monthly financial performance reports, quarterly reporting, balance sheets, and cash statements.
- Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Assist in the annual budgeting process, monitor expenditures, and analyze variances between actual and projected figures.
- Strategic Financial Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate long-term financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Financial Management: Assist management in ad hoc departmental projects. Assist in the county procurement process to acquire goods, services, and construction projects.
- Assist in the completion of the annual Drainage Maintenance Process.
- Assist in accounts payable and receivable and research of vendors and purchase order balances.
- Grant Management: Will work to track, analyze, and report on organizational Grants.
- Airport: Assist Airport Clerk and complete the necessary roles during the Airport Clerk's absence.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Entry-level positions may require internships or related experience; mid to roles typically demand 2-4 years in financial analysis or related areas with public finance being a plus

OTHER: - Use of Financial Tools: Utilize software like Excel, ERP, and state financial reporting systems
- Compliance & Policy Development: Ensure adherence to financial and internal financial policies and procedures
